С 1996 года 76 женщин Оршанского района удостоены ордена Матери

Since 1996, 76 women from the Orshansky district have been awarded the Mother’s Medal.

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated May 18, 2004 No. 288-Z "On State Awards of the Republic of Belarus", the Order of Mother is awarded to women who have given birth to and raised five or more children – citizens of the Republic of Belarus.

The awarding of the Order of Mother is carried out when the fifth child reaches the age of one year and when the other children of this mother are alive.

The Order of Mother is awarded to women who possess high moral qualities and responsibility in raising and caring for children, taking care of their health, development, education, preparation for socially useful work, instilling in them culture and respect for laws, historical and national traditions of Belarus. The presentation of the state award of the Republic of Belarus – the Order of Mother – is a confirmation of the prestige of motherhood in society.

Since 1996, 76 women from the Orsha district, who have given birth to and raised five or more children with dignity, have been awarded the state award of the Republic of Belarus – the Order of Mother, including five women awarded in 2025.

Women are not eligible for the Order of Mother if they:

  • do not properly fulfill their duties in raising and caring for children as established by law;
  • lead an immoral lifestyle;
  • are deprived of parental rights, restored in parental rights;
  • are former adoptive parents, if the adoption was annulled;
  • have a criminal record, as well as have been repeatedly (two or more times) brought to administrative responsibility for offenses against public order and public morality, against the order of governance.
