The administration of the Vitebsk region congratulates the residents of the region on the 900th anniversary of the Spaso‑Evphrosine Monastery in Polotsk
Dear Orthodox Christians of Vitebsk Region!
This anniversary is a significant event not only for all of Belarus but for the entire Orthodox world.
Founded by Saint Euphrosinia of Polotsk, the heavenly patroness of Belarusian land, the monastery is not only a spiritual symbol but also an invaluable part of our history and culture.
For nine centuries, this ancient abode, one of the first centers of Orthodoxy and monastic life in Belarusian lands, has served as a beacon of faith and spirituality.
The Spaso-Euphrosinia Monastery is not just a unique landmark; it is a place where history lives, where faith takes on tangible forms in the architecture of the Spaso-Transfiguration Church, its iconography, and holy relics. All of this attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from Belarus and other countries seeking comfort, healing, and spiritual renewal.
May this anniversary become a new impetus for the further prosperity of the monastery, the strengthening of spiritual traditions, and the spreading of the light of Christ's faith.
We wish all Orthodox Christians and the servants of the monastery good health, peace, kindness, and prosperity!
Sincerely,
A.M. Subbotin, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
D.V. Demidov, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies.
