Republican review-competition for the best improvement of a surface water body
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus informs that starting from May 1, 2025, an annual republican review-competition for the best improvement of surface water bodies (hereinafter referred to as the Review-Competition) will commence, which will be held in three stages in two nominations: "Best improvement and maintenance of the recreation area on the water body among state organizations"; "Best improvement and maintenance of the recreation area on the water body among water users providing recreation and tourism services".
The procedure for organizing and conducting the Review-Competition is defined by the resolution of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus dated September 19, 2022, No. 47.
Please note that starting from 2023, submission of applications from participants is not required.
In the first stage of the Review-Competition (from May 1 to May 31), the selection of participants takes place, along with the conduct and summarization of results at the district level (conducted by local executive and administrative bodies within the framework of the acceptance of the readiness of recreation areas on water bodies for the spring-summer season).
In the second stage (from June 1 to June 15), results are summarized at the regional level (conducted by regional committees for natural resources and environmental protection).
The third stage (from June 16 to June 30) concludes with the determination of the winners of the Review-Competition at the republican level.
When evaluating the improvement of recreation areas, greater attention is paid to the preservation of the natural (environmental) attractiveness of landscapes, and the work carried out on the arrangement of the surface water body itself (its coastal zone, the condition of beaches).
The winners of the Review-Competition are awarded corresponding diplomas and monetary prizes.
