The regional forum on sustainable development of the Vitebsk region started in Orsha

Today, a regional forum dedicated to sustainable development of the Vitebsk region is taking place in Orsha. The event gathered representatives of government, business, science, and the public to discuss strategic directions for the region's development.

The forum's program began with a ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial complex "For Our Soviet Motherland," where participants honored the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Belarus.

Sergey Nikolaevich Khomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, is participating in the event. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of sustainable development of regions and the need for a comprehensive approach to the implementation of socio-economic programs.

After the laying of flowers, forum participants familiarized themselves with the exhibition-fair, where innovative projects and achievements of the Vitebsk region in the fields of ecology, energy efficiency, agriculture, and digitalization were presented.

One of the main events of the day was the plenary session on the topic "Sustainable Development: From Concept to Implementation." Experts discussed key aspects of sustainable growth.

Events will continue throughout the day, with the program including a presentation of samples of products produced by RUPTP "Orsha Flax Plant," an introduction to the possibilities of training and retraining specialists at the competence center for modern engineering technologies of the State Educational Institution "Orsha State Mechanical and Economic College," and familiarization with the physical culture and health complex in the village of Babinichi, among others.

Participants expressed confidence that joint efforts will allow the Vitebsk region to achieve significant success in implementing the sustainable development strategy.
