The implementation of the regional development plan, approved by the Council of Ministers' decree, is being considered at the meeting of the Vitebsk regional executive committee.
At the meeting of the regional executive committee, the issue of "The implementation of the development plan for certain regions, approved by the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus" is being considered.
In focus – several districts of Vitebsk region.
– The issue is quite problematic and mainly relates to the lagging districts in terms of socio-economic development – Gorodok, Shumilino, Senno, Sharkovshchina, Ushachi, and Lyozno. In order to reduce interregional differentiation, a government resolution was adopted that allowed these districts to improve their indicators in relation to the national average level during the current five-year period, – reminded the chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin. – In Senno and Gorodok districts – in terms of wages, revenue, and the number of people employed in the economy; in Lyozno, Sharkovshchina, and Shumilino – in terms of wage and revenue growth; in Ushachi – in terms of wages. The development plan for certain regions envisaged the implementation of 85 projects, of which less than half have been implemented since 2020.
As a result, the head of the northern region noted, currently none of the mentioned districts have met all three indicators set by the resolution.
What are the prospects and strategy for further development of the regions, both from the perspective of the chairmen of the district executive committees and the leadership of the regional executive committee, is being discussed at the meeting of the regional executive committee.
