"There are no simple questions." The senator held a meeting with citizens in Vitebsk
The Deputy Chairperson of the Permanent Commission of the Council of the Republic on Economy, Budget, and Finance, Deputy Chairperson of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Head of the Main Department of Trade and Services of the Regional Executive Committee Irina Levkovich held a personal reception for citizens, including individual entrepreneurs and representatives of legal entities.
…The essence of the appeal is a story that has been ongoing since 2017, regarding the supply of a low-quality log cabin to a resident of Vitebsk for a house on a summer cottage plot within the city limits. It was manufactured by an individual entrepreneur from the Mogilev region. The story has already been resolved in court. And, according to its decision, the truth is on the side of the applicant. However, to this day, she is not satisfied with the actions of the enforcement authorities in the Mogilev region. According to the applicant, the unfortunate business entity that provided such a disservice to the consumer has already disposed of all its property, to the extent that he divorced his wife, and she filed for alimony. The log cabin is no longer the property of the Vitebsk resident, but simply stands on her land, and she is its custodian. However, she still cannot get back the money paid for it. The appeal remains under the control of the senator, as it is necessary to understand why the mechanism for protecting consumer rights did not work: either it is the result of the actions of an unscrupulous entrepreneur who is trying by all means not to reimburse the funds, or the law enforcement officers are not doing their job properly.
… Each side has its own truth in another complicated story related to the non-renewal of the lease term for commercial premises in the center of Vitebsk. Each side has documents in hand, a court hearing has already taken place, and there is no turning back. Irina Levkovich expresses her wishes to the landlord to avoid bringing the matter to court in the future and to try to find some compromise solutions.
– After receiving a response from the Vitebsk City Executive Committee to her request, she deemed it necessary to try to resolve this appeal again, listening to both sides, – noted the senator. – Legally, the city executive committee is right, but, in my opinion, in the future, before bringing the matter to court, it is necessary to seek a reasonable compromise both with the owner and, accordingly, with the team.
Questions with many "knots" are brought to the people's representatives. And resolving them is a challenging task, especially when the law has already spoken its word.
