The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, listened to reports from the Chairman of the Board of the National Bank, Roman Golovchenko, and the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Karanik, on October 29. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The central theme of the report by the head of the National Bank was the refinement of the program for the socio-economic development of Belarus until 2030. This is being handled by a working group led by Roman Golovchenko, and the refined document must be presented to the President by November 1. The head of state was informed today about the main content of the program, key sectors, and areas of focus. The final version of the document is planned to be submitted for approval at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, which will be held on December 18 and 19 this year.
Another topic of Roman Golovchenko's report was the work on the practical implementation of the instructions given at the meeting of the President with the National Bank's apparatus and bank leadership held in mid-September. In particular, the implementation of the task for greater involvement of the banking system in the economic development of the country. This includes the resource base and issues of inflation.
The head of the National Bank also reported on the solutions developed for problematic issues within the competence of the National Bank. In particular, on topics that have public resonance and the appeals received from Belarusians.
The Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Karanik, reported on the progress of preparations for the President's meeting with the scientific community. It was emphasized that the scientific sphere should also make a significant contribution to the implementation of tasks for the country's development in the upcoming five-year period. The focus is on practice-oriented developments, strengthening the connection between science and production, import substitution, and increasing export potential, as well as mastering innovative areas in demand in the real sector.
The head of the NAS also informed the President about specific projects and developments on topics for which instructions had previously been given by the head of state.
