Trade unions have opened a direct telephone line for issues concerning the remuneration of teaching staff
As of January 1, 2025, the Resolution of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus No. 204 came into effect, which provides for an increase in the amounts of allowances for pedagogical workers.

– The Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science Workers, together with the industry ministry, constantly cares about increasing the salary level in the sector. Over the past five years, salaries have been raised several times. And not only due to the increase in allowances for work in the field of education and science but also due to the increase in contract allowances. Thanks to the joint efforts of the trade union and the relevant ministry, the average contract allowance is over 30%. In some regions and in the city of Minsk, it reaches 50%, – explained the chairperson of the Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science Workers Tatyana Yakubovich.
Thus, starting from January 1, 2025, a salary increase is planned through an increase in the work allowance: for teachers – by 39% of the salary, for educators and assistant educators in preschool education institutions – by 20% of the salary, for lecturers and masters of vocational training in educational institutions – by 27%, and for the academic staff – by 15%. Additionally, those with a candidate degree will receive 35% of the salary, and doctors of science will receive 55% of the salary. Furthermore, the allowance for work in the sector has been increased by 20% of the salary for social educators and educational psychologists.
– The Ministry of Education and the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers also pay special attention to children with special psychophysical development needs. Therefore, an increase in the additional payment for special working conditions is planned – on average by 10% of the base rate for working with such students, – noted Tatyana Yakubovich. – All these measures are aimed at enhancing the prestige of the teaching profession and operate within the framework of a consistent increase in the remuneration of pedagogical workers.
