Volunteer squads
One of the directions for increasing the efficiency of the internal affairs bodies in preventing and suppressing offenses, solving crimes and locating criminals is the promotion of law-abiding behavior, involving citizens in law-enforcement activities and cooperation with voluntary squads. Squad members participate in maintaining public order together with PPSM police officers, precinct police inspectors, and traffic police (GAI) officers.
In accordance with the Sample Regulation on the voluntary militia, approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 1354 dated 17.10.2003, the priority form of participation of militia members in maintaining public order should be patrolling (posting posts) on streets, areas of terrain and other public places to prevent and suppress offenses. The above form of service positively affects the operational situation and is widely used in the Orsha district.
