Application of mobile boiler houses during the autumn‑winter period

Mobile boiler house is a fully autonomous boiler house designed for the rapid restoration of heat energy supply to the population and prevention of the consequences of accidents and the occurrence of emergency situations at the main boiler house and heating networks.

Mobile boiler houses are insulated structures made of profiles or sandwich panels, mounted on semi-trailers or chassis, for quick delivery by road transport to the site of an accident or for repair work. To independently supply electricity to the main and auxiliary equipment, these installations are equipped with an autonomous power supply source – a diesel generator, a complete set of technological equipment necessary for connection to existing heating networks and boiler houses, as well as they are equipped with tanks for storing chemically purified water, necessary for the stable operation of boiler equipment and tanks for fuel storage. They have a closed internal heating supply circuit, the transfer of thermal energy to the heat carrier occurs through plate water heaters, which eliminates the possibility of losses of boiler water located in the internal circuit of the boiler house.

What are the advantages of mobile boiler houses:

  1. Quick delivery to the site of an accident or work production using road transport;
  2. Equipment is supplied as a single block;
  3. Short deployment times and supply of thermal energy to consumers;
  4. Ability to operate in field conditions when deployed without an external power source.

Deployment of a mobile boiler house takes no more than 1-1.5 hours, which includes connecting to the heating main, installing chimneys, connecting main and auxiliary equipment, and reaching optimal operating mode.

Mobile (transportable) boiler installations are placed in locations where heat is temporarily needed. These can be, for example, construction sites, field research work, or accident sites.

In addition, there are many other areas where mobile boiler houses are indispensable. Transportable boiler houses are preferred for use in large area premises due to the need for large-scale heat production (hot water) and one heating unit cannot cope with this task. Typically, these premises are residential or administrative buildings. The list of users includes areas and districts without the possibility of connecting to a centralized heating main.

The boiler room is constructed from thermal insulation panels so that they can withstand both cold and heat.

 Mobile boiler houses can operate on various types of fuel, such as gas, liquid, or solid fuel. However, gas ties the boiler house to the places of its connection and limits its mobility.

The boiler houses are designed with a high level of automation, which ensures the autonomous operation of all equipment without the constant presence of maintenance personnel. Safety automation ensures the operation of the boiler house according to the mode-setting test card in accordance with the temperature schedule depending on weather conditions. In case of an emergency situation, the safety system stops the operation of the boilers.

Such boiler houses are becoming increasingly relevant due to their low cost, lack of maintenance costs, simplicity, and practicality in use.

The term "mobile" means that the boiler installation is already assembled at the factory and ready for transportation, as well as that it can be moved to another location at any time.  The boilers located inside the block operate on the type of fuel for which the manufacturer of the burner devices has provided, as burners can be gas, combined, and modulated. Multi-fuel options allow switching from gas to diesel fuel or fuel oil. The transition usually occurs automatically: if the gas supply is interrupted, the nozzle function is activated, supplying and atomizing liquid fuel in the flame area.

The principle of operation and design of mobile boiler houses allows for the production of boilers in a wide range of capacities and their transportation by road transport, which contributes to the rapid prevention and localization of emergency situations.

Mobile boiler houses have repeatedly demonstrated their indispensability and high performance in emergency situations and repairs of both boiler houses and pipelines in winter.
