We looked at how much it costs to get a child ready for school in Orsha

It is already mid-July, and there is very little time left until the start of the school year. Buying stationery, new uniforms, and backpacks can significantly impact the wallets of parents of schoolchildren, so it is better to start preparing for school in advance.

"Arshanka" together with Alla Baeva, her fifth-grade daughter Alina and seventh-grade son Mikhail went to the Department Store and checked how much it costs this year to get a child ready for school.

– From school supplies, we usually buy diaries, pens, notebooks, and covers. When we were in elementary school, this list was supplemented with sets of pencils, markers, and albums. Of course, a school suit is also important, – clarifies Alla Mikhailovna.

The stationery department is bright with colors. At the sight of the wide assortment of notebooks, notebooks, and rulers, the eyes scatter. We walked through the aisles with diaries, backpacks, and notebooks. The cost of diaries ranges from 2.60 to 2.80 rubles, thin notebooks – from 0.64 rubles to 0.85 rubles (regardless of whether it is a grid or a line), backpacks – from 61.05 rubles to 159.60 rubles, semi-general notebooks for 1.97 rubles.

– In preparing for school, the main thing for me is to listen to the children's opinions, – continues Alla Baeva. – Alina and Mikhail can independently choose the items that will be convenient and comfortable for them to use.

A stand with colorful pens and simple pencils attracts attention. Patterned pencil cases seem to beg to be put in the basket. Prices for them range from 4.33 rubles to 6.16 rubles, for pencils – from 1.14 rubles to 3.74 rubles, pens – from 1.12 to 4.49 rubles. In total, parents of elementary school students will have to spend from 74.82 to 142.0 rubles on stationery, and for high school students – from 50.13 to 80.14 rubles, excluding the cost of backpacks.

School uniforms are sold on the second floor of the department store. The price range depends on the quality of the material, size, style, and manufacturer. A blouse for a girl can be purchased for 35.12 – 137.29 rubles, a sundress – for 46.27 – 123.69 rubles, a skirt – for 24.46 – 124.78 rubles, trousers – for 59.21 – 128.12 rubles. Vests for boys cost from 42.98 to 139.52 rubles, trousers – from 72.38 to 115.62 rubles, shirts – from 42.21 to 99.28 rubles, jackets – from 43.45 to 202.42 rubles. In total, buying a school uniform for a girl will cost approximately 163.41 – 240.83 rubles, and for a boy – 235.31 – 310.48 rubles.

– Now there is a huge selection of products for schoolchildren in stores, – notes the mother of two children. – There are enough educational supplies for every taste and budget, so I would recommend other parents not to delay buying stationery and uniforms until the last moment, but to start preparing in advance.
