We looked at how the Orsha poultry farm works
The production unitary enterprise "Orsha Poultry Farm" is one of the largest producers of chicken eggs and egg products. They produce half a million eggs of various categories daily: dietary chicken eggs, table eggs by categories, packaged in sets of 10 under the trade brand "Arshanskie Znakhodki", as well as dry and liquid egg melange, liquid egg yolk, liquid egg white, and poultry meat.
The population in the enterprise's poultry houses today numbers 750 thousand chickens. The products are supplied to the branded retail network of the Orsha region, to Minsk, Vitebsk, Mogilev, and also for export to the Russian Federation.
The director of the enterprise, Vladimir Prokhorov, is not new to the poultry farm. He has been working since 2003. He has gone through all the stages of career growth. Vladimir Fyodorovich started as a foreman of the poultry farming section. He knows the entire technological process from start to finish. He is ready to talk for hours about his native enterprise and the transformations that have taken place recently. For example, the territory of the poultry farm, which is 20 hectares, now resembles one large construction site. The demolition of old buildings is underway, some are being reconstructed, approaches to the workshops and poultry houses are being arranged, and technological equipment is being replaced. The management has many plans and ideas, but their implementation requires both time and financial investments.
– Not everything at once, – explains Vladimir Prokhorov. – We are only at the beginning of a long journey. Last year, the enterprise installed an automatic machine for sorting and packaging eggs with a capacity of up to 120 thousand pieces per hour. Now, all processes, from the arrival of eggs to their shipment, are handled independently by the smart machine. New equipment has also been installed in three poultry houses. Currently, we are implementing the second stage of the project for the reconstruction of poultry houses and the installation of a conveyor for the centralized collection of eggs from poultry houses to the sorting workshop. The installation of the second part of the equipment is currently underway. The commissioning of these three poultry houses has allowed the enterprise to additionally increase production capacity by more than 20%.
In the near future, the enterprise plans to carry out the reconstruction of poultry houses for keeping young laying hens up to 100 days old. Preparations for the installation of equipment in the buildings have already begun. The implementation of this project will allow the poultry farm to significantly improve the quality of the young stock raised.
For several decades, the Orsha poultry farm has operated a workshop for processing egg products for the production of dry and liquid melange, which is used in the confectionery industry. The most reliable consumers are the confectionery factories "Vityba" and "Slodych".
In 2009, modernization and installation of automatic equipment for egg processing were carried out here. Thus, if it is necessary to produce dry melange, after receiving the egg mass, it immediately goes to the drying unit, from which the finished product comes out. By the way, the enterprise produces from 10 to 20 tons of dry and liquid melange per month.
The Orsha poultry farm also produces poultry meat, and not just chicken. Since 2021, the enterprise has added the production site "Haysy" in the Vitebsk region, where turkey is raised. Only in 2024, the production of turkey amounted to 1216.1 tons.
– Today this direction is promising, – says Vladimir Prokhorov. – After all, more and more Belarusians prefer to consume dietary products, and turkey is just for those who care about healthy eating. Not long ago, we reconstructed three poultry houses, which allowed us to additionally obtain up to 300 tons of turkey production. Accordingly, our production capacity has increased by more than 20%. Very soon we will complete the reconstruction of two more poultry houses, which will allow us to increase turkey production by another 10%.
