Pyrotechnics: celebration or danger?

Pyrotechnic products can be a source of fun and excitement, but they also pose a potential threat to health and life, especially for the younger generation.

According to statistics, as of January 1, 2025, three people were injured in the Vitebsk region while using pyrotechnic products. Unfortunately, one of them was a minor. And these numbers continue to rise every day. The Orsha district was no exception. On the evening of January 3, a child born in 2012 was admitted to the healthcare institution "Orsha City Hospital No. 1" with explosive injuries to the fingers of both hands, which he sustained as a result of the explosion of a pyrotechnic product (firecracker).

To ensure safety, it is necessary to follow basic precautions. Purchase pyrotechnics only from licensed sellers. Before use, be sure to read the instructions. Make sure that people are at a safe distance from the launch site of the products. Pyrotechnic products should only be launched under adult supervision. Discuss with children the importance of following safety rules, explaining why they should not touch unexploded products and why it is prohibited to use firecrackers.

Pyrotechnic products can add bright colors, but safety must remain a priority for everyone. Remember that following simple safety rules will help prevent accidents.
