Patriotic and bright, a military parade took place in Orsha
After the solemn rally at the Memorial Sign to the liberators of the city on Mira Street, a military parade began with the participation of law enforcement agencies and a festive procession of enterprises and organizations of the Orsha district, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The parade was commanded by the military commissioner of the Orsha and Dubrovno districts, Colonel Alexander Marchenko.
The column was opened by the flag group, led by the head of the radar station of the 2nd radio engineering center of military unit 25 888, Senior Lieutenant Grigory Yazenko with the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus.
Following them, the flag group carried the Banner of Victory. Soldiers of the internal troops, employees of the Orsha department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, and workers of the Orsha city emergency department marched in formation.
The military parade was followed by a festive procession. It was opened by a group of drummers from the exemplary choreographic collective "Veselushki". Then came the students of military-patriotic clubs from educational institutions in the Orsha district.
Representatives of public organizations and associations, medical workers, athletes, and students from secondary vocational institutions of the Orsha region participated in the procession.
Workers from numerous enterprises and organizations of the region marched in stylized costumes of wartime, symbolizing soldiers, partisans, and underground fighters of that time, as well as medical personnel of military hospitals. A large column of railway workers marched. During the war years, Orsha railway workers defended the Motherland, demonstrating examples of courage and heroism.
With the roar of engines, motorcyclists rode out onto Mira Street. Representatives of the Orsha motorcycle club "Boomerang" carried the Banner of Victory across the country from the walls of the Brest Fortress to Orsha. This symbol of the unparalleled feat of Soviet liberators will continue to the farthest point of Russia – Vladivostok.
The procession concluded at the main stage area in the city square. There, a concert began, and festive celebrations will continue until late evening.
