Prevention of offenses among minors

One of the most pressing and socially significant tasks facing our society today is undoubtedly finding ways to reduce the rise of crime among youth and increase the effectiveness of its prevention.

Therefore, the prevention of offenses among minors represents, on the one hand, an important component of the overall system for preventing offenses in general, and on the other – a prerequisite and an integral part of the work of educating the younger generation in modern conditions.

The main reason for committing offenses and crimes can be attributed to young people's desire to satisfy their personal needs and interests in an unlawful way.

The police department continuously conducts raid operations to check entertainment establishments in the Orsha district and other youth concentration points in order to identify minors who are in a state of drug intoxication and to test them for the use of narcotic substances and psychotropic substances.

For parents about drug addiction: how to protect children

Dear parents!

The main and most defenseless target that the drug business "fires" at is youth, especially children and adolescents. Often children learn about drugs earlier than you expect: from mass media, from friends, etc. Therefore adults must be fully equipped to prevent a possible disaster.

What to always remember

A child's attitude towards drugs largely depends on the style of family upbringing. Kindness and family support help raise in children a sense of self‑esteem, confidence and the ability to defend their own opinion. The best immunity to drugs is an optimistic, active, purposeful and constructive life position.

Children greatly need the attention of close people, trusting communication with them. Parents must be able to listen and hear children, get to the core of their problems, teach them to analyse situations, give advice on observing personal safety rules.

Parents should be true friends to their child. If they encounter problems (with drugs, with peers, etc.), they need to help make the right decision, and if necessary convince them to seek help. Not everyone who tries drugs will necessarily become an addict, but everyone who gets used to them started by trying once.
