Оршанцы в числе победителей XVII открытой республиканской спартакиады «Полесские игры»

Orshans among the winners of the 17th Open Republican Spartakiad “Polesian Games”

In Mozyr, at the base of the "FOC Polesye-Arena", the XVII open republican sports festival among wheelchair users "Polesye Games" took place.

14 teams from all regions of Belarus, as well as from Bryansk and Belgorod in the Russian Federation, participated. Traditionally, the team from the Orsha district also competed.

At the solemn opening ceremony of the sports holiday, the organizers welcomed all participants, wished them victories, and as a sign of hospitality and warmth, presented loaves of bread to the team captains.

Then the competitive program began. Athletes had to demonstrate their skills in various events, including shooting from a pneumatic rifle, darts, table tennis, novus, biathlon (relay), shuffleboard, curling, archery, kurling, cornhole, digathlon, boccia, and chess.

Throughout the entire sports festival, our compatriots showed commendable results. For instance, in the "shooting from a pneumatic rifle" event, Marina Shaido and Stanislav Andriyanov took first place. The second and third places in table tennis went to Angela Martynova and Marina Shaido. Stanislav Andriyanov, in a fierce competition, secured 2nd place in table curling and 3rd in the game of "boccia". In a tough contest in the digathlon among women, Angela Martynova came first, while her companions Alexander Pankratov and Dmitry Dayneko took first and second places in the men's subgroup.

According to the results of all competitive events, the overall team standings were as follows: the team from Mozyr took 1st place, the team Minsk-2 took 2nd place. The team from the Orsha district rounded out the top three winners.
