The residents of Orsha honored the memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union Konstantin Zaslonov

Today, a rally dedicated to the day of the death of the Hero of the Soviet Union K. S. Zaslonov took place in the square near the station.

The patriotic event was attended by the deputy head of the ideological work and youth affairs department of the Orsha district executive committee Sergey Gnedkov, the head of the Orsha locomotive depot named after 
K. S. Zaslonov Denis Dervoyed, and the chairperson of the Orsha district organization of the Belarusian public association of veterans Zinaida Khaychenko.

Representatives of labor collectives from the Orsha railway hub, veterans, and student youth came to the grave where the commander of the partisan brigade Konstantin Zaslonov and the adjutant of the brigade commander Yevgeny Korzhen are buried.

The participants of the rally recalled the labor and combat days of the underground fighters and partisans who acted against the Nazis in occupied Belarus during the Great Patriotic War.

The combat work of the partisans allowed to paralyze the railway lines, depriving the Nazis of a significant part of the rolling stock they used. Partisan units under the command of Uncle Kostya, as his comrades called him, carried out dozens of successful combat raids in the Vitebsk-Orsha-Smolenks area, destroying a large number of enemy soldiers and equipment. For exemplary performance of combat missions in the fight against the German invaders, for courage and heroism, K. S. Zaslonov was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. At the end of 1942, the partisan commander was killed in battle with the punitive forces.

The participants of the rally honored the glorious partisan and all those who died during the Great Patriotic War with a moment of silence. Then a solemn laying of flowers at the grave and wreaths at the monument to the Hero took place.
