At the state sports institution "Hockey Club 'Lokomotiv-Orsha'", a solemn ceremony was held for the 14-year-old residents of Orsha to receive their passports as citizens of the Republic of Belarus as part of the republican campaign "We are citizens of Belarus!".
25 young men and women, who have already achieved significant success in their studies, actively participate in social, sports, and cultural activities, and try their hand at olympiads, creative competitions, and contests, received a ticket to adult life.
Their first and most important document was presented to the young people by the chairperson of the Orsha District Council of Deputies, Inna Khomutovskaya, the prosecutor of the Orsha District, Anatoly Avsyuk, the head of the ideological work and youth affairs department of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Maria Shmatova, the head of the citizenship and migration department, Alexander Kozhar, and the first secretary of the Orsha District Committee of the BRSM, Maria Trubkina.
– The passport of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus is a document that symbolizes the beginning of a new stage of independent life, filled with interesting and significant events, – congratulating the students, noted Inna Khomutovskaya. – It won't be long before you will be making important decisions in the history of Belarus, creating the future of the country. I am sure that receiving the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus today, you will remember this event for a lifetime.
– We understand that the future of not only our district but the whole country depends on our generation. We promise to become worthy citizens of the Republic of Belarus through our studies, work, deeds, and actions, to preserve its history and traditions, – said Danaya Skakun, a student of Gymnasium No. 1, in her response.
All the young people were presented with the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the book "I am a citizen of the Republic of Belarus", as well as gift boxes from the union youth. Another gift was a bowling tournament organized by the BRSM, where the young people were able not only to have fun but also to meet and make new friends.
