Orsha law enforcement officers are conducting checks of agricultural enterprises. Under special control are the readiness of equipment for spring field works, prevention of thefts, labor discipline, and other important issues.

The main reason for thefts in the agro-industrial complex is the insufficient organization of security for agricultural facilities. In most farms, the territories of dairy farms, complexes, machine yards, grain storage facilities, and other sites are partially fenced or not fenced at all. Necessary lighting of the areas is not provided. Some facilities are not equipped with locking devices.

The Internal Affairs Department of the Orsha District Executive Committee reminds that theft of property entails both administrative and criminal liability.

Petty theft of property through theft, fraud, or abuse of official powers results in a fine of two to thirty basic units or administrative arrest. The same actions, committed repeatedly within one year after the imposition of an administrative penalty for similar violations, result in a fine of thirty to fifty basic units or administrative arrest.

The acquisition, storage, use, or sale by individuals of dyed liquid fuel supplied to agricultural organizations results in a fine of ten to fifty basic units.

Theft of property is punishable by community service, or a fine, or corrective labor for up to two years, or arrest, or restriction of freedom for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same term. Theft committed repeatedly or by a group of individuals is punishable by a fine, or corrective labor for up to two years, or arrest, or restriction of freedom for up to four years, or imprisonment for the same term.

Theft committed on a large scale is punishable by imprisonment for a term of two to seven years with or without a fine. Theft committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to twelve years with a fine.

The Internal Affairs Department of the Orsha District Executive Committee has organized mobile groups that conduct raids daily in the evening and at night to prevent thefts of agricultural products and material values of organizations, and to ensure labor discipline at workplaces.
