The Orsha youth honored the memory of the Holocaust victims.

At the Central Library named after A. S. Pushkin, a memorial event "Holocaust: Destruction, Liberation, Salvation" was held, dedicated to the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust. Participants included students from the Orsha College of VGU named after P. M. Masherov.

This date, January 27, was established by the UN in memory of the liberation in 1945 by the Red Army of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp. Library staff reminded the youth that the Holocaust is the total destruction of entire nations, primarily Jews. Thousands of them became victims of the Nazis on Belarusian soil.

The guest and expert of the meeting was Vitaly Ivchik, the senior assistant prosecutor of the Orsha district. He detailed the large-scale investigation of the criminal case regarding the genocide of the peaceful population of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War. In his speech, the prosecutor's representative presented specific and shocking facts that continue to emerge during the investigation, becoming new evidence of the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices.

The solemnity and emotional depth of the event were enhanced by creative performances from students of the Orsha City Children's Art School. Arina Chvanova, Elizaveta Klykovskaya, Kira Loban, and teachers performed musical pieces.

This meeting became an important lesson in history, reminding the new generation of the value of human life, the horrors of Nazism, and the necessity to preserve the memory of the past in the name of the future.
