Orshanka became a victim of internet scammers

A 55-year-old resident of Orsha contacted the Internal Affairs Department of the Orsha District Executive Committee regarding fraudulent actions committed against her.

During the investigation, it was established that the woman found a post on the social network "Instagram" in December 2024 titled "Click on your age and find out how much you can earn." The woman clicked on this ad and provided her personal information. After a while, a trader from the United Kingdom contacted her via Telegram. After a brief conversation and a video lesson, he convinced the woman to invest her own money.

As a result, the woman transferred over 3,000 rubles to the fraudster. Another 5,800 rubles that were in the woman's account were not received by the fraudster – after numerous persuading attempts to invest a larger sum, the woman suspected that she was being deceived and contacted law enforcement authorities.

Dear citizens, be vigilant! Criminals often use social networks to promote their fraudulent schemes. All investment offers promising easy money are likely to be scams. If you receive a call or message from an unfamiliar number discussing finances and quick wealth, do not rush to provide your information.
