Orsha hosts the International Chess Tournament
The XXIV International Chess Tournament is taking place at the Ice Arena in Orsha.
There are a total of nine rounds in the tournament, and three have been played so far. They are held in several age categories.
Group F features the youngest chess players – those born in 2018 and younger, groups E and D include boys and girls born in 2016 and 2014 respectively and younger, while group C consists of boys and girls born in 2012. Group B is an open tournament for everyone without FIDE rating calculation, while group A features both grandmasters and strong chess players – this is an open tournament with FIDE rating calculation.
On January 21, there will be a simultaneous exhibition with international grandmasters. Alexander Moskalenko will play against adult chess players, while international grandmaster among women, Rakhil Eidelson, will play with children. On Saturday, January 24, a blitz tournament will be organized for all interested.
The results will be summarized and the official closing of the competitions will take place on January 25.
