Orsha and Uzbekistan's Navoi signed a cooperation agreement

As part of the III Belarusian-Uzbek Forum, an agreement on cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural, and humanitarian spheres was signed between the Orsha District Executive Committee and the Khokimiyat of the city of Navoi.

The head of the district Igor Moroz met with the khokim Dilmurod Ergashov and discussed further partnership prospects. The Orsha region has been developing cooperation with Uzbekistan in various fields for several years. For example, medicine is actively working in this regard.

The Orsha Central Polyclinic signed a Memorandum with the Jambay District Medical Association. A delegation of doctors from the Bulungur District Medical Association of Samarkand region visited Orsha to learn from the colleagues at City Hospital No. 1 named after Semashko. Subsequently, a number of agreements and memoranda were signed with the Kiziltepa and Khatyrchinsky district associations and the Navoi city association. Orsha medics also visited Uzbekistan on an official trip. Additionally, medical workers from the Katakurgan District Medical Association of Samarkand region, Uzbekistan, trained in our city on advanced technologies in obstetrics and gynecology, transplantation, resuscitation, and surgery.

The Orsha flax is well known in Uzbekistan. The flax processing plant supplies its products to this country and participates in various international exhibitions and forums.

Bridges of friendship are also being built in the field of education. Thus, the Orsha State College of Food participated in a joint meeting with the leadership of the territorial administration of higher education, science, and innovation development of the Jizzakh region, which took place in Uzbekistan. A cooperation agreement was signed, and the main areas of joint work and development of interaction in educational and scientific activities were defined. Uzbek partners also visited the college to discuss the training of specialists for the enterprises producing dairy products being built in Uzbekistan.

In May of last year, the World Cup stage in checkers-64 took place in Tashkent — the international competition "Uzbekistan-2024" with the participation of Belarusian athletes. The champion of the World Cup stage in the classic game (up to 11 years) was the Orsha resident Ivan Nevar.

This year, guests from Uzbekistan participated in the XIII International Economic Forum, in the international scientific and practical conference "Flax Cultivation: Realities and Prospects," visited Secondary School No. 20 in Orsha named after I. A. Flerov, and got acquainted with the work being done on patriotic education of schoolchildren, and visited the Orsha College of Railway Transport for experience exchange.

There are many points of contact between Orsha and Uzbekistan. Ahead are new plans and prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation.
