Fire does not forgive mistakes!

Every year with the arrival of spring in Belarus, the problem of burning dry vegetation intensifies. Citizens continue to burn grass, considering it a harmless practice. However, such actions can lead to large-scale fires that threaten human lives, the natural ecosystem, and the economy of the country.

Burning is dangerous for biodiversity, as it affects insects, small animals, and birds. It is important not to overlook that the release of toxic substances during the burning of grass pollutes the air and can harm humans. In uncontrolled burning, the fire spreads quickly and can reach homes and outbuildings. Among gardeners, there is a belief that this is a way to "fertilize" the soil. However, instead, the soil loses its fertility.

To prevent dangerous situations, simple rules should be followed. For example, instead of burning, composting or taking waste to special sites can be used. Special vigilance is necessary if there are children in the house – explain to them the dangers of playing with fire. Do not leave bonfires unattended, extinguish embers with water or sand. Always have primary fire extinguishing means at hand, such as a bucket of water or sand.

Remember that according to Article 15.57 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, burning dry vegetation at the root is subject to administrative liability with a fine of up to 30 basic units. In case of causing significant damage, criminal liability arises.

Burning grass is not a tradition, but a threat. By refusing this dangerous practice, everyone can contribute to the preservation of nature and the safety of the region!
