The renovated museum “Glory to the Teacher. The Hall of Memory of Uladzimir Karatkievich” opened at School No. 3 in the city of Orsha.

The updated museum "Glory to the Teacher. Hall of Memory of Vladimir Korotkevich" was opened today at secondary school No. 3, which is named after our famous countryman.

The museum has moved to a spacious room with modern renovations. The exhibition is divided into several thematic parts and is rich in photographic materials. It tells about all periods of the life and creativity of Vladimir Semyonovich, about the creation of the school museum and its first director in 1984-2000 years Lilia Radomskaya, about the history of education in the Orsha region, and presents the chronicle of the school.

The updated museum has expanded its military theme. It tells about teachers who participated in the Great Patriotic War, who remained faithful to their profession and continued their pedagogical path after the war hardships, and those who did not live to see peaceful days, fighting on the fronts.

For the opening of the museum, students prepared a concert program about the life and creativity of Vladimir Korotkevich. Then they invited guests to interactive workshops based on the writer's works.

Among the honored guests at the event were the deputy chairman of the Orsha district executive committee Anastasia Prokofyeva, the head of the education department of the Orsha district executive committee Tatyana Yankovskaya, the head of the ideological work and youth affairs department of the Orsha district executive committee Maria Shmatova, the military commissioner of the Orsha and Dubrovno districts Ivan Chertkov, and veterans of pedagogical labor.

According to teachers, the museum has become a center for cultural, recreational, and school scientific activities, where children write research papers, prepare projects, and communicate in interest clubs. And in the updated format, it has become even more convenient to engage.

– Our museum is a center for civic-patriotic education, contributing to instilling love and respect for one’s country in every student, which begins with love and respect for their small homeland, city, school, and fostering a careful attitude towards the history of their people. Moreover, the school museum is an educational center of an open educational space, a coordinator of civic-patriotic education activities of the educational institution, and a connecting thread with other cultural institutions and public organizations, – says the museum director, teacher of Belarusian language and literature at secondary school No. 3 named after V. S. Korotkevich Natalia Prudnikova.

Traditionally, students conduct tours in the museum. Each narrative part has its own guide in the guise of an exhibition hero. Therefore, during the tour in the school museum, one can meet both the young Vladimir Korotkevich and his friend, photojournalist Valentin Zhdanovich, as well as Orsha resident Sasha Kotov – a young hero of the Great Patriotic War, to whom part of the exhibition is also dedicated.
