Exchange of experience and joint projects. An international conference of court experts is taking place in Minsk.
In Minsk, the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "The Role and Significance of Forensic Expert Activity and Forensic Science in Ensuring National Security" is taking place, reports a BELTA correspondent.
The event is organized by the Scientific and Practical Center of the State Committee for Forensic Expertise (GKSÉ). The conference is held to exchange scientific and practical experience in criminalistics, forensic expertise, and to develop cooperation. Representatives of GKSÉ, the State Secretariat of the Security Council, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Investigative Committee, other state bodies, as well as foreign guests are participating in the event.
The conference indicates that Belarus is a "trendsetter" in the field of forensic expertise. This is acknowledged by all our colleagues. Everyone strives to learn something new, share experiences, and developments. The event is held at a significant time for us - the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic and World War II. Such conferences unite not only experts but also nations that fought side by side against fascist invaders. I hope that this unity will help us in the future to jointly counter the challenges posed by the modern world and transnational crime," emphasized Yuri Ovsiuk, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Forensic Expertise - Chief State Forensic Medical Expert of Belarus.
The head of the Scientific and Practical Center of GKSÉ, Vadim Poznyak, stated that holding such conferences creates a foundation for the future. "Currently, criminal, civil, and administrative processes are largely formed based on the internal conviction of the person conducting this process. We want the basis of these actions to be facts obtained through scientific methods," he noted.
The conference features exhibitions of special technical means and equipment used for conducting expertise and scientific research, as well as scientific-methodological and reference literature.
"The conference shows that Belarusian forensic experts have achieved significant success in both science and practical activities. We regularly exchange methodological materials," noted Elena Rossinskaya, head of the Department of Forensic Expertise, scientific supervisor of the Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Moscow State Law University named after O.E. Kutafin.
According to her, the event will discuss the creation of a Belarusian-Russian network program for training in forensic science.
On October 2, presentations on various expert directions will be heard in two thematic sections. On October 3, a competition "Tribune of the Young Scientist" is planned, which is held to attract youth to conduct scientific research on relevant issues of forensic expertise, to develop the scientific initiative of researchers, and to stimulate creative activity.
