On liability for non-compliance with lawful requirements of internal affairs officers

For disobedience to a lawful order or demand of an official of a state body in the performance of his official duties, administrative liability is provided.

Article 24.3 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses provides for a fine of two to fifty basic units or administrative arrest for such actions.

In accordance with current legislation, to suppress disobedience, internal affairs officers have the right to use physical force and special means.

Criminal liability is provided for the use of physical force or threats of its use against law enforcement officers.

The sanctions of Article 363 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus for resisting an internal affairs officer or another person in the performance of their duties to maintain public order provide for corrective labor for up to two years, or arrest for up to six months, or restriction of freedom for up to three years, or imprisonment for up to two years.

Dear citizens, remember that in any conflict situations there are legal ways to resolve them. It is important to remember that the lawful demands of a police officer, made within the scope of his authority, are mandatory for execution.
