About safety for everyone

The employees of the Orsha Emergency Situations Department remind that the main cause of fires is careless handling of fire. Remember that any situation involving open flames can turn into a disaster. In particular, careless handling of fire while smoking is the leading cause of fatalities in fires.

Only strict adherence to fire safety measures can prevent a fire. Smoking is strongly recommended to be done in ashtrays.

It is also necessary to monitor the condition of your electrical appliances and electrical networks, do not leave household electrical appliances plugged in unattended, operate electrical appliances in accordance with the manufacturer's operating instructions, do not use damaged electrical appliances or outlets, do not plug multiple high-power consumers into one outlet at the same time - this overloads the electrical network.

A stove is a serious heat-generating device, and only keeping it in good condition will allow for a safe heating season. A chimney that is not cleaned of soot, cracks in the stove body, falling out of the masonry mortar, a door of the firebox that does not close tightly, and a hearth plate that does not meet the minimum dimensions of 50x70 cm are the main factors of a dangerous stove.

Do not forget to monitor gas appliances and equipment.

Children are the most precious thing in our lives, but they often show interest in fire without fully realizing its potential danger. Stay one step ahead of your child, keep matches and lighters in places inaccessible to children, explain what to do in case of a fire, remind them of the numbers and procedures for calling emergency services. Have discussions with children about preventing the ignition of dry vegetation.

In case of fire, call 101 or 112!
