New joint projects were defined in the talks between the presidents of Belarus and Zimbabwe
During negotiations in Minsk with the President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa, new joint projects were defined. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko following the negotiations in Minsk with his Zimbabwean counterpart, reports BELTA correspondent.
The head of state noted that the parties held very intensive and productive negotiations. "Our specialists and ministers worked very effectively before us. We discussed a wide range of issues, reviewed how the already reached agreements are being implemented (including during the visit to Zimbabwe two years ago). We defined new joint projects. At the same time, special attention was paid to the development of promising areas, including interregional cooperation and industrial cooperation," said Alexander Lukashenko.
A package of bilateral documents has been signed. At its core is a roadmap for 2026-2030, which takes into account all key joint projects in various fields.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that significant results were achieved during Emmerson Mnangagwa's visit to Belarus. This was preceded by extensive work by governments, relevant ministries, regional authorities, and companies.
"But I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for your significant personal contribution to the development of strategic relations of friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of Belarus and Zimbabwe. I am convinced that with such support we will even more actively increase trade turnover, create joint promising productions, and open new markets both in Africa and Eurasia," emphasized the Belarusian leader.
Alexander Lukashenko invited the President of Zimbabwe and his wife Auxillia Mnangagwa to visit Belarus again. He assured that the Zimbabwean leader would feel not just at home, but truly at home - on Belarusian soil. "I am very grateful to you for everything you have done. I pay tribute to the fact that there would not be such a level of understanding and relations between Zimbabwe and Belarus if it were not for you. It was you who came once, being the vice president, to our country and proposed to build our relations. That is where it all started," added the President of Belarus.
