– Our region is quite widely represented at the VNS by representatives of all estates and age groups of the population. The slogan of the seventh All-Belarusian People's Assembly was: "Time has chosen us." The historic nature of the moment was determined not only by the new status, functions, and powers but also by a new model of political development that has enhanced your competencies as deputies, as representatives of the people in the field, – addressed the attendees the head of the delegation from the Vitebsk region at the VNS, the chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin.
At this important time of completing the five-year plan in the period of preparation for the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, it is necessary to discuss the results of the socio-economic development of the region, the main strategic directions for development in the next five-year period, to determine what has been done, what needs more work, what to pay attention to, so that the final result is an improvement in the lives of the residents of the region and the country, emphasized Alexander Subbotin.
– Gathering delegates here on the eve of the VNS, discussing the reality and prospects of the region we will represent, is important so that we do not remain indifferent later, but can organically integrate into the discussion of the country's development concept. For it to be real, alive, and effective, – stressed the head of the regional authority.
The report on the VNS as the highest representative body of people's power was delivered by the general director of the Vitebskoblgaz, a member of the presidium of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly Alexander Brantsevich.
The deputy chairman of the regional executive committee Angelika Nikitina analyzed the results of the socio-economic development of the Vitebsk region in 2021 – 2025 and reported on the prospects for strategic development of the region for 2026 – 2030.
