On the eve of Labor Day in Vitebsk, the winners of the professional mastery contest “Master of the Year of Vitebsk Region – 2024” were awarded.

Labor is the foundation of the country's development and well-being. This was stated by the chairman of the regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov, on the eve of May Day, awarding the winners of the professional skills competition "Master of the Year of Vitebsk Region – 2024".

– Behind the achievements of any enterprise stands a team, where each person in their place creates a common success. The foundation of state policy in our country is a fair attitude towards people, – emphasized Dmitry Demidov. – Following a good tradition, on the eve of May 1, the trade union summarizes the results of the professional skills competition, thereby popularizing working specialties and professions, highlighting the best and most dedicated people to their chosen path. Teachers, doctors, builders, representatives of other sectors of the economy ensure our well-being through their labor. I am sure that for the younger generation, each of you will serve as an example.

Awards for labor were presented to 17 representatives from various sectors of the economy of the northern region – these are workers from agriculture, healthcare, education, trade, the petrochemical complex, energy, communications, construction, and other industries. Among them is the electrical engineer for testing and measurements of the "Polimir" plant of OJSC "Naftan" Vladislav Obolevich.

– I came to the enterprise through distribution in 2019, and just a year later I found myself on the pedestal of professional skills of the plant. I am confident that there is room for improvement and growth in my field. Recently, a young specialist joined our team, with whom I share my experience, sometimes give advice, and teach the basics and nuances of the profession, – noted Vladislav Obolevich.

The chairman of the regional trade union association Yuri Derkach emphasized that workers from various sectors, labor veterans who developed and continue to develop the country's economy, have always been treated with respect and honor. Labor Day emphasizes the creative nature of the people, and the professional skills competition is another reason for pride, and for others – an incentive for quality work.
