In the Vitebsk region, activities are being carried out to prevent domestic violence
In the Vitebsk region, a set of operational and preventive measures aimed at preventing particularly serious and serious crimes against the life and health of citizens, as well as in the area of domestic violence, is being conducted until January 17.
In 2025, one case of intentional infliction of serious bodily harm against relatives was registered in the Orsha district.
For offenses committed in the sphere of family and domestic relations, administrative liability is provided for in part 1 of article 10.1 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on administrative offenses (intentional infliction of bodily harm that did not result in short-term health impairment or insignificant persistent loss of ability to work). The offender faces a fine of ten to thirty basic units, community service, or administrative arrest.
When violent actions are systematically committed against the victim, the guilty party will be held criminally liable under article 154 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (torture), for which arrest or restriction of freedom for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same period with or without a fine is provided.
