In order to ensure the safety of the most vulnerable category of road users, the State Traffic Inspectorate is conducting a republican preventive event "Save Your Life!" until January 19.
To prevent traffic accidents involving pedestrians, explanatory work has been organized on the importance of strict adherence to traffic rules, safety measures at pedestrian crossings, and when moving outside populated areas. Special attention is paid to the mandatory use of reflective elements during dark hours and in conditions of poor visibility.
Traffic police officers and all public safety police have intensified oversight of road traffic, especially during dark hours. Not only pedestrians who grossly violate traffic rules will not escape responsibility, but also drivers who do not comply with speed limits and rules for passing crossings.
On patrol routes, inspectors monitor the functionality of outdoor lighting, the presence of facts of streetlight outages at night, as well as the work of organizations for winter maintenance of streets and roads in a safe condition.
