International motor rally “Road of the Great Victory”: memory, unity and patriotism
As part of the large-scale international car rally "The Road of Great Victory", a solemn meeting was held at the memorial complex "For Our Soviet Motherland", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The Republican public association "Patriots of Belarus" launched the car rally, which will unite thousands of people from different countries to honor the memory of the heroes who defended the freedom and independence of our Motherland.
Representatives of the Orsha District Executive Committee, public figures, veterans, and youth attended the event.
With solemn speeches, the following spoke:
Chairman of the Orsha District Council of Deputies, Inna Viktorovna Khomutovskaya: "The memory of the Great Victory is the connecting thread between generations. Our duty is not only to honor the heroes but also to educate the youth in the spirit of patriotism and respect for history. Initiatives like the car rally unite people, strengthen the connection of times, and remind us of the price our people paid for peace."
Chairman of the Republican Public Association "Patriots of Belarus", Nikolai Nikolayevich Zarubitsky: "80 years ago, our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, at the cost of incredible efforts and sacrifices, defeated Nazism, giving us peace and freedom. Today, more than ever, it is important to preserve the truth about that war, to pass it on to future generations, and to resist any attempts to rewrite history. The car rally 'The Road of Great Victory' is not just a route; it is a symbol of unity, respect for the feat of the Soviet people, and a reminder that we must protect the achievements of our ancestors."
Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Republican Public Association "Patriots of Belarus", Vladimir Gennadyevich Babichev: "The Great Patriotic War left an indelible mark on the fate of every Belarusian family. We must be worthy of the feat of our ancestors, carefully preserve historical memory, and pass it on from generation to generation. This car rally is another step towards strengthening international cooperation in preserving the truth about the war."
The participants of the meeting laid flowers at the memorial, honored the memory of the fallen with a moment of silence, and emphasized the importance of preserving historical truth.
