Large-scale Maslenitsa festivities took place in Barany

In the square near the House of Culture in the city of Baran, truly folk Maslenitsa festivities unfolded.

From early morning, music filled the air, laughter rang out, the aroma of fresh pancakes wafted, and the square gradually filled with residents and guests of the city. Everyone gathered together to bid farewell to winter and welcome the long-awaited spring.

The holiday became a real event for all of Baran. People came with their families, friends, and children, and everyone found something enjoyable to do. One of the most spectacular events was the snow figure contest. Participants amazed with their imagination and skill: from ordinary snow, fairy-tale characters, funny animals, and entire winter compositions were born. Spectators eagerly examined the works, took photos, and supported the participants with applause.

A special atmosphere was created by the Maslenitsa procession with songs, jokes, and folk sayings. Bright costumes, scarves, ribbons, and lively ditties all contributed to the feeling of a genuine folk celebration.

Creative groups from the House of Culture "Baran" performed on stage. Songs, dances, folk compositions, and modern acts alternated, while the audience happily sang along and danced.

Play areas were available for children and adults. The bravest participated in chopping logs, tested their strength in the traditional attraction "Maslenitsa Pole," and lovers of active entertainment eagerly joined in the fun "pancake race." Colorful photo zones attracted the attention of everyone without exception. A special interest was sparked by the exhibition of Maslenitsa effigies. Each with its own character, costume, and mood. But undoubtedly, the most attractive spot was the "Feasting Shop." Aromatic, golden, hot pancakes flew off the griddle instantly. Here, one could also warm up with hot tea and simply chat in a cozy company.

The culmination of the festivities was the traditional burning of the Maslenitsa effigy – a symbolic farewell to winter and a welcome to spring. Despite the winter weather, the holiday turned out to be truly warm.
