Lukashenko heard reports from the heads of the State Control Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, listened to reports from the Chairman of the State Control Committee, Vasily Gerasimov, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivan Kubrakov, on November 5, as reported by BELTA.
The Chairman of the SCC reported on the results of the conducted inspection in the road sector. The corresponding task (to conduct monitoring) was previously set before the State Control Committee by the head of state. The quality of construction work during the construction and reconstruction of roads and bridges was checked, and the issue of purchasing new road equipment was studied.
The second topic of the conversation between the head of state and the Chairman of the SCC was the effective use of land and state property. The discussion concerned the involvement of land in economic circulation, the demolition of certain old buildings. The President had previously instructed to conduct a full audit of agricultural facilities that are not in use and to determine their possible designation. Vasily Gerasimov reported on the identified shortcomings in these matters.
The President was also informed about the inspection of the execution of the instruction on long-term construction projects. In particular, regarding the approaches defined concerning unfinished facilities across the country. It was reported that the number of such facilities has significantly decreased in recent years, but there are still a number of problematic issues.
The State Control Committee is also monitoring the situation in accordance with the President's instruction regarding the maintenance of order (until November 7). This concerns the country as a whole, and especially the Vitebsk region, where Alexander Lukashenko recently held a meeting on regional development issues. The Chairman of the State Control Committee reported on the interim results. The President emphasized the importance of focusing not only on external order maintenance but also on addressing more global issues. The head of state instructed the SCC to thoroughly check the state of affairs in the country as a whole after November 7 and to provide him with a detailed report on how the order maintenance instruction is being executed.
In addition, during the report, Alexander Lukashenko instructed the State Control Committee to study the markets for tobacco products and alcoholic beverages, starting from the distribution of quotas and ending with the turnover of these products in the country.
Ivan Kubrakov reported to the head of state on the operational situation in the country and, in particular, on crime statistics related to criminal investigations. The situation is calm and under the control of law enforcement agencies, and the trend of decreasing crime continues. As assured by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the preventive measures previously instructed by the President are yielding results. Reports were also made on the work to solve crimes from previous years - high-profile cases, as well as crimes that are under the President's control.
This year, Belarus continues to see a trend of decreasing crime rates.
Another topic is combating cybercrime. Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly called this issue a critically important problem and has tasked law enforcement agencies with protecting people from such criminal encroachments. Ivan Kubrakov reported on the current trends - for the first time in the country, the situation has been turned around, with a decrease in this type of crime by approximately 10%. Measures taken by the police to protect citizens were reported. The President tasked the authorities to pay special attention and provide assistance to elderly people.
During the report, the topic of combating the illegal drug trade was also discussed, with reports on dynamics and statistics in this regard. Overall, the situation in this area, as reported, is under control.
An important topic of the report is road safety issues. The focus was on problematic moments and causes that lead to tragic consequences on the road. The President was also informed about the results of the work done after the changes in traffic rules. The head of state was interested in how the population perceives the changes in legislation regarding road safety, especially concerning personal mobility devices.
Ivan Kubrakov also reported to the head of state on statistics and the operational situation on migration issues.
