The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, congratulated the people of France on their National Holiday, widely known around the world as Bastille Day. This was reported by BELTA from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"July 14 is a turning point in the history of the struggle of the French for their rights and freedom," the congratulation states. "In modern conditions, these values acquire special significance for states that strive to pursue an independent policy and determine their own future."
The President expressed confidence that the ancient wisdom, rational thinking, and traditional friendliness characteristic of the peoples of Belarus and France will help overcome the disagreements and alienations that today tear the world apart and lead to a path of mutual respect and cooperation.
