Lukashenko approved the procedure for awarding a medal in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed decree No. 80 "On the Jubilee Medal" on February 27, which approved the regulation on the procedure for awarding the medal "80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945". This was reported by BELTA in the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The document was adopted to implement the decision of the Council of Heads of State - participants of the CIS from September 9, 2024, on the establishment of a unified jubilee medal in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
This medal is made of gold-colored metal. Its obverse features figures of Red Army soldiers raising the Banner of Victory over the Reichstag, and a faceted five-pointed star surrounded by a laurel wreath.
The jubilee medal is awarded to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, former prisoners of fascist concentration camps, prisons, and ghettos, as well as individuals who made significant contributions to the heroic-patriotic education of the population and the perpetuation of the memory of heroes, participants, and victims of the Great Patriotic War.
