Lukashenko: the demands on science will only increase, and the results will be paid for properly
The requirements for science will only strengthen, and we will pay decently for results. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on the issues of the development of the scientific sphere and the activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, reports the correspondent of BELTA.
"The requirements for science will only strengthen, and we will pay decently for results. I want you to understand my approaches. They are earthly: give the goods - receive money. Advance? If you deserve trust - we will give an advance, and not a small one. There must be guarantees," said the Belarusian leader. "We need to seriously shake ourselves, look at what is happening around, and think about whether we want to end up where some puppeteers of world politics are trying to pull us. Or do we want to work peacefully and live with dignity?.. If so, then we need to work for real!"
The head of state emphasized that without science and innovation, it will not be possible to double labor productivity. Therefore, scientists have a special role in these processes.
In summary, Alexander Lukashenko once again reminded of the need to hold another congress of scientists next year: "We are waiting for you to be ready to hold a congress of scientists next year. This will depend not only on me. I will adjust. Determine the time. But the main thing, before the congress of scientists, is that we must move away from those problems and solve the tasks that are facing us today. We have outlined them in general terms. Now it's time to work!"
