Lukashenko saw off the President of Zimbabwe at the airport
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, saw off his colleague and friend, the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, at the airport, reports a BELTA correspondent.
The presidents met at the airport, during which they summed up the results of the recent working visit of the Zimbabwean leader to Belarus.
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that it is precisely due to the personal contribution of Emmerson Mnangagwa that the current high level of relations between Belarus and Zimbabwe has been achieved.
"We are very happy to be here. And we are very pleased with the dynamics of the relations that are developing between Zimbabwe and Belarus," said the President of Zimbabwe.
During a friendly conversation, the heads of state also touched upon the weather - this May in Belarus has been quite cool. "You will have to acclimatize again at home. But you have winter there too," noted the head of the Belarusian state.
Emmerson Mnangagwa confirmed that it is indeed winter in Zimbabwe now, and sometimes it is quite cool by local standards. "But the Belarusian weather is very comfortable for us," he assured.
"This indicates that you need to visit Belarus more often," Alexander Lukashenko replied.
The leaders of the countries said their warm goodbyes. Emmerson Mnangagwa thanked for the excellent organization of the visit and invited Alexander Lukashenko to make a reciprocal visit to Zimbabwe in the near future. "Thank you very much! I will take the best memories with me," said the President of Zimbabwe as he took his leave.
The day before, at the Palace of Independence, Alexander Lukashenko and Emmerson Mnangagwa held talks with the participation of members of the governments of both countries. They discussed primarily the development of industrial cooperation and the creation of joint ventures, the development of trade not only with Zimbabwe but - from its platform - with other countries in the region, cooperation in healthcare, education, and the implementation of modern technologies. Alexander Lukashenko proposed to intensify cooperation between the EAEU and the Southern African Development Community - Belarus and Zimbabwe are chairing these integration associations this year.
A target of $100 million. Lukashenko announced tangible practical results in cooperation with Zimbabwe.
A package of bilateral documents has been signed. At its core is a roadmap for 2026-2030, which takes into account all key joint projects in various fields.

The leader of Zimbabwe arrived in Belarus on May 11. Over the past days, he visited the Belovezhskaya Pushcha, toured the memorial complex "Brest Hero-Fortress," where he laid flowers at the Eternal Flame, and also got acquainted with the work of the "Savushkin Product" enterprise and highly appreciated the milk processing technologies used in Belarus.
A number of bilateral events on the sidelines of the visit also took place at the departmental level, through enterprises, public organizations, and business circles.
