Lukashenko commented on the process of selecting personnel for the new government composition and beyond
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, commented on the process of selecting personnel for the new government and more. He made the relevant statements while receiving a report from the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, Natalia Kochanova, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"I already see in the mass media they are starting to stir: 'Oh, the government! Who will be - who won't...' They simply forgot, journalists, bloggers, and others, especially not our own, that the government is formed not after the elections. We gradually formed the government for several months, half a year, or about a year before the elections, appointing ministers and so on. Almost half of the ministers, government members have been working for less than a year. That is, these are newly appointed people," said the head of state. "But the leadership and senior officials, and others - everything that falls under the President's competence - these people are subject to consideration."
Alexander Lukashenko reminded that he had instructed to consider these issues and submit proposals on candidacies to a special commission, which includes Natalia Kochanova. "So that there are more opinions. I know you have discussed the personalities of the candidacies more than once. What conclusions have you reached?" - the President inquired.
Kochanova answered the question of how much the composition of the government in Belarus may change
He explained that the work of the commission is not only to propose candidacies for the government but also in general. But, of course, the focus is primarily on the leadership of the government, a number of ministers, and senior officials.
The President also asked Natalia Kochanova to report on the results of her recent visit to Azerbaijan.
