Lukashenko suggested to campaign for Tajikistan to join the Eurasian Economic Union

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, proposed to persuade Tajikistan to join the Eurasian Economic Union. The corresponding remark was made by the head of state during a meeting with the heads of government of the CIS and EAEU countries who came to international forums in Minsk, reports BELTA correspondent.

After the speech of the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda, the head of state said: "As I understand it, Tajikistan is not yet ready to join the EAEU. Mikhail Vladimirovich (addressing the Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin. - Note from BELTA), we need to somehow persuade our colleague."

Currently, the members of the Eurasian Economic Union are Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Armenia.
