Lukashenko was promised to develop a domestic quail within three and a half years
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, was informed about plans to create a selective-genetic center for quail breeding during his visit to the Soligorsk poultry farm, reports a BELTA correspondent.
The head of state asked specialists when Belarus would have its own quail. The fact is that currently, domestic poultry farming depends on the supply of day-old chicks of parent and grandparent stock from abroad.
"Our own quail - in three and a half years," said the director of the Soligorsk poultry farm, Inna Tolkacheva.
Lukashenko also inquired about the opinion of the head of the National Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Karanik. "There is a good chance for quail," he replied.
