The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, confirmed plans to develop a formula for fair pricing by April 1. He stated this while receiving a report from the Prime Minister of Belarus, Alexander Turchin, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"The pricing formula. The formula, as we call it, of fairness. You opposed then (at the meeting on this topic on February 28 of this year. - Note from BELTA), being a governor. And now, as the chairman of the government, how do you see it? But by April 1 - we promised the people that we would develop this formula, which will not pressure either entrepreneurs - producers, or consumers," - said the President.
As reported by BELTA, following the meeting on February 28 Alexander Lukashenko instructed the government to determine a new pricing regulation system by April.
"For the President, everything related to ensuring social standards of living for every person is the number one issue. The government proposed two options: the first - short-term, the second - medium-term. The short-term option is based on business proposals, with which we worked very closely and in detail to develop approaches that would suit business," - explained the First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snapkov to journalists at that time.
It is this approach that the government took as a basis and submitted for consideration to the head of state. Its essence lies in adjusting the existing pricing regulation system, working on mistakes, leveling existing distortions and imbalances based on established practices.
"The President has accepted this approach, and it has been instructed to be refined jointly with state bodies, regional executive committees, and business and submitted by April 1, preferably by March 25. The work is, in principle, not complicated, understandable. What needs to be adjusted, we understand," - stated Nikolai Snapkov.
The government's proposal for the medium-term perspective involves the formation of a republican system for the circulation of goods, works, and services. "Today, several platforms are already being implemented in the country. This includes a product traceability platform, a product labeling platform, an electronic invoice, and the implemented cash register control system (CKCO). By integrating these systems and making them 'user-friendly', we obtain a single trade document, through which the analytical center will see all movements of goods, works, and services in the country. The main goal of creating such a platform is to track the added value in the chain of product movement," - explained the First Deputy Prime Minister.
