Lukashenko urges not to build what can be dispensed with today and tomorrow
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, is guiding not to build what can be done without today and tomorrow. This was stated by the head of state at a meeting on the draft forecast documents for the upcoming year, reports a BELTA correspondent.
The President noted that new state programs will start working next year. The government has already formed a list of them, which will be considered separately. "Most are socially and economically oriented and are funded from budgets. But what is the basis of these programs? How was the need for resources determined? These should be real, applicable in practice plans for specific and effective results," emphasized the Belarusian leader.
"At the same time, I want to note, Prime Minister, I am sure you will fulfill this - you have been instructed under no circumstances to engage in the construction and creation of what we can do without today and tomorrow. I see these offices, palaces in the regions. Something else there. We need to build - and include it in the program (they are included. - Note from BELTA)," the head of state pointed out.
According to Alexander Lukashenko, there are other areas where funds should be prioritized. For example, for the construction of modern complexes in agriculture for the maintenance of cattle.
"Enough of these palaces and cultural objects. It is probably more important to build housing for people. There is no need to scatter money that you do not have. We need to objectively assess the situation and stop the construction of various museums, recreation houses, and the like. These need to be utilized," noted the President. "We will build one museum - there will be both the state and charity. All together. People will come, they will look, because there is already an ocean of them in the regions. The same goes for other facilities."
