Oman allocates land to Belarus for the creation of a tourist cluster. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during the adoption of personnel decisions, talking about the emerging new markets and opportunities using the development of relations with Oman as an example, reports a BELTA correspondent.
"They are allocating land for us to create our huge tourist cluster there. So that people can fly not only to Turkey and the Emirates. It’s literally an hour (an hour longer flight duration than to the UAE. - Note from BELTA) - and you are there, in the ocean. An open ocean. Here, please, come, work, the door is open. But you have to go, you have to go!" - noted the head of state.
"It is my task to open the door - come in, work. We were telephoning, we haven’t seen Oman. They are happy to welcome us. Ports, factories - please, take them, mix potassium fertilizers, produce new ones there, sell them. So many directions are opening up!" - emphasized Alexander Lukashenko.
He added that the Omani side is ready to implement large-scale projects on the territory of Belarus. One of them is the construction of a pulp and paper mill, a memorandum of which was signed on October 6 following negotiations in Minsk between the President of Belarus and the Sultan of Oman. "This is under two billion in investments. They will trust, they are ready to build it with us," - noted the President.
It was previously reported that the total investment volume for this project will be about $1.4 billion. The capacity of the enterprise is expected to be around 800 thousand tons of products per year.
