Лукашенко одобрил стратегии участия Беларуси в ШОС и БРИКС

Lukashenko approved Belarus's strategies for participation in the SCO and BRICS

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, approved the strategies for Belarus's participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS. This was reported by BELTA from the Administration of the President of Belarus.

The projects of the Strategy for Belarus's participation in the SCO and the Strategy for actions on the implementation of the foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus within the framework of participation in BRICS were presented by the government for the head of state’s consideration. Alexander Lukashenko approved both documents.

It should be noted that in the summer of 2024, the country became a full member of the SCO family and then formalized its status as a partner state of BRICS.
The approved Strategy for Belarus's participation in the SCO defines the conceptual directions of activity, goals, and tasks of Belarus's participation in the SCO, as well as the mechanisms for their implementation in the near and medium-term perspectives.

The Strategy concerning BRICS also defines the priority areas of interaction between Belarus and the member states and partner states of this Association.
Both strategies are designed for five years until 2030. They may be extended, updated, and revised in light of various current trends.
