Lukashenko promises support to farmers
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, assured that support is provided in the country for those wishing to engage in farming. He made the corresponding statement during a working trip to the Mogilev region, reports a BELTA correspondent.
The head of state reminded that at one time, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was necessary to restore once successful agricultural organizations that found themselves in not the best condition in the 90s. And then a number of countries went down the path of selling land. But Belarus made a different choice for itself, and now collective farms, state farms, and so on are operating effectively. In such a well-established, streamlined system, there is an opportunity to transfer, for example, individual lands to farmers for agricultural activities.
"At that time, I had to show: this is the path we will take - large-scale farms. But if someone wants to become a farmer - please, you have land. Today there are no problems at all. Take any farm. Naturally, no one will give you "Rassvet", you understand that there will be a fight for this "Rassvet" or for some lands. These are peasants, you can't break this... It needs to be done carefully," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko.
Today, there are no problems in creating farming enterprises, he added. But the difficulty is that at the moment many who apply for agricultural land would like to have "large latifundia", that is, to engage in large-scale production, but at a private level. "Please. We have it. But I immediately say that well-functioning farms (the majority of them), of course, no one will give up. Why break them? They work - let them work. And where it is necessary to apply the hand of a private individual, - please, we will support," said the head of state.
"We talk to those who work," he added.
