Lukashenko on the internationalist warriors: you are a model for the current generation of defenders of the Motherland
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, addressed internationalist soldiers and veterans of the war in Afghanistan. This was reported by BELTA from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The head of state emphasized that about 30,000 natives of Belarusian soil, demonstrating courage and resilience, defended the right of the Afghan people to a peaceful life and development.
"You honestly and selflessly fulfilled your international duty, remaining true to your oath, winning in fierce and exhausting battles," the address states. "Continuing the combat traditions of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, you are a model for the current generation of defenders of the Fatherland, making a significant contribution to the patriotic education of the youth."
The President wished the internationalist soldiers, veterans of the war in Afghanistan, and their families good health, optimism, kindness, and well-being under the peaceful sky of their native Belarus.
