Lukashenko on the Minsk book exhibition-fair: it is a unique event of public, cultural and spiritual life
The head of state Alexander Lukashenko sent greetings to the participants of the XXXII Minsk International Book Exhibition-Fair and the XI International Symposium of Writers "Writer and Time". This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the President.
"The Minsk exhibition-fair, being a unique event in the public, cultural, and spiritual life of Belarus, has a high international status and attracts the attention of thousands of people every year," the greeting states.
The President emphasized that throughout history, the book has been and remains the main source of knowledge, a part of the intellectual heritage of ancestors, and today, in the age of information technology, it contributes to strengthening the unity of the people and serves to cultivate the best moral qualities in the youth.
It is noteworthy that the current forum takes place in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, and many events and stands of the exhibition are dedicated to this event, telling about the feats, heroic struggle, and genocide of the Belarusian people, the head of state noted.
"I am convinced that traditional meetings of writers and book lovers open new horizons for humanitarian cooperation, bringing countries and peoples closer together," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
Alexander Lukashenko wished all participants and guests of the exhibition fruitful work and creative inspiration, interesting meetings, and pleasant impressions.
